PEZ® candy was originally invented in Vienna, Austria, as an alternative to smoking. Eduard Haas III created these internationally-known treats and named them after the German word for peppermint, "Pfefferminz." He took the first, middle and last letters to make the name we all know today.
PEZ® was first introduced to the US in 1952 and has since become a staple in the candy world, bringing all kinds of designs inspired by pop culture.
