The coin’s reverse features an engraved rendering of Weather Watch – Bison by Canadian artist Robert Bateman. Shown in side-profile, a bison (Bison bison) remains alert while calmly resting on a sandy bank in the open grasslands. The reverse includes the text “CANADA 2024”, the denomination of “2500 DOLLARS” and an engraved reproduction of the artist’s signature. The obverse features a nature-themed pattern and the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. The obverse also bears a special marking that includes four pearls symbolizing the four effigies that have graced Canadian coins and the double date of her reign.
