COIN HIGHLIGHTS

  • Ships individually in protective packaging
  • Consisting of 1/4 oz of 9999 Fine Gold
  • Obverse: Features an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
  • Reverse: Features the depiction of a powerful bison as it trots through the open grasslands of the Canadian prairies

The North American Bison is an essential part of Canadian history. As the continent’s largest animal in terms of mass, the bison can grow in excess of over a ton in weight. Due to their abundant weight and wool, Bison were critical to the success of both indigenous North Americans and settlers, with every part of the bison carcass used for the production of critical survival materials such of food, utensils, clothing, hygiene products and shelter. This crucial bovine animal serves as the focal point of this spectacular 1/4 oz 9999 fine gold coin from the Royal Canadian mint.

Held on the reverse side is the depiction of a powerful bison as it trots through the open grasslands of the Canadian prairies. Above the Bison’s head, is the coin’s 9999 stamp of purity. The country and year of origin, in addition to the 1/4 oz denomination encapsulate the image.

On the obverse, is left-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II, illustrated with exquisite detail. The field remains blank, with the exception of her Majesty’s title and the coin’s $10 denominational value.
